舞妓-Maiko 芸者-Geisya
Maiko are apprentice geisya. Girls who want to become geisya go into special "maiko houses" at a young age.They learn various traditional Japanese arts. It usually takes about five years of training for become Geisha.
舞妓とは芸者の見習です。芸者を志す若い女性は茶屋で、さまざまな伝統芸能を学び修行をします。芸者になるにはだいたい５年程を要します。

芸者-Geisya
Geisya are female professional entertainers on banquets. They perform traditional Japanese arts such as playing instruments, singing, dancing, but also conversation and social grace. Geisya wear Kimono, have their hair in traditional Japanese style, and their face are made up very pale.
芸者とは宴席に興を添え、もてなす女性です。日本の伝統芸である楽器の演奏や歌、踊りなどを披露するだけでなく、会話や社交的品位も身に着けていなければなりません。芸者は着物をきて、髪を結い、白塗りのお化粧をします。
